Yeah sure, the world is getting pretty hyped up about Jake Gyllenhaal going all hardcore for his new role as the Prince, eponymous hero of the upcoming live-action Prince of Persia movie. But I'm more excited about this screenshot! Phwoar. If you're interested, there's a couple more below the cut!

The new game is titled PoP: The Forgotten Sands and is apparently set chronologically between Sands of Time (the first one) and Warrior Within (the second one). Ubisoft announces it comes complete with "many of the fan-favorite elements" and "new gameplay innovations that gamers have come to expect from the Prince of Persia brand."
What do we expect? I don't actually know.
Well, this must mean the latest Prince of Persia reboot, the one with the companion chick, was a flop to Ubisoft. I played that one and thought it had charm in its characters and story, but the gameplay was like watching paint dry. I also never played any of the original trilogy, including Sands of Time which everybody says was a masterpiece.
Maybe I'll go check those out in the mean time before Forgotten Sands gets released.
