News: Left 4 Dead 2 coming to Australia after all + juicy demo details!
Good news gamers and zombie-killing fans alike. Left 4 Dead 2 has finally been allowed into Australian borders. After Gabe negotiated with the retarded censorship board here, Left 4 Dead 2 is going to be available to down-under gamers, on the condition the violence is taken out.
WHAT? you ask.
Yes, that's right folks, it appears Australia is going the way of Germany. The Australian version of L4D2 will have no forms of decapitation, dismemberment or gore. No wound details or corpses lying about either for that matter. So whilst the rest of the world enjoys a finger-licking good time owning the undead, Australian gamers will be playing ring-a-around-a-roses with their zombies instead.
What fun.
Still not good enough, Australia. If you are like me, you'll be going overseas to get your unadulterated version of the game. No word on whether the Steam version will be censored for Aussies though.
And the second bit of L4D2 news... DEMO!!! Or rather, just details about it:
It's a snippet from "The Parish" campaign set in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Full multiplayer functionality as was with the demo last year, and all boss infected and new melee weapons included. So you won't feel like Valve is keeping some of the good stuff for the full game.
My personal opinion is that last year's demo for L4D1 was thoroughly enjoyable and made the wait a few more days for the full game even more horrific.
The early-access demo is available on October 27th (THAT'S SOON) for all those who preorder Left 4 Dead 2 through Steam, whilst the rest of us normal folk can play the demo on November 3rd. Then, the full game will be released November 17th!!! That is so sickeningly soon I'm quaking in my boots. But still, Australia.... censored....
Apparently Gabe is still pushing an uncensored version to the Aus. govt and we're awaiting word on the results for that.
